The Lion King is a story about the adventures of a young lion named Simba. Leading a happy life as a cub idolizing his father, Mufasa, the king of the jungle, Simba is unaware of the evil plans of his uncle, Scar. Scar, who is eager to become king, poses a threat to Simba after killing Mufasa. Devastated by his uncle’s betrayal and the loss of his father, Simba goes into exile. When the time comes, he will return to claim what is rightfully his and make his uncle pay for his actions…
The brave father of young Simba, Mufasa, is voiced by the veteran actor James Earl Jones, who also voiced the character in the original film. Donald Glover portrays Simba, with the talented actor and musician breathing life into the character. The voice cast includes Oscar-nominated actor Chiwetel Ejiofor as Disney’s iconic villain Scar, comedian and actor Keegan-Michael Key as the hyena Kamari, Seth Rogen as the warthog Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as the meerkat Timon, and pop star Beyonce as the lioness Nala, whom Simba falls in love with. The film is directed by Jon Favreau, known for his work on “The Jungle Book”.
